31 2010 and 2030 Strommix 2010: 157 Terawatt-Stunden
2030 Prognose: 198 Terawatt-Stunden AB Jan 11 When you compare the capacity mix to the generation mix, you can see here that nuclear and water power will continue to provide the base load that will permit wind, solar and biomass generation sources to supply when conditions permit. By contrast, conservation in the comparison here grows in rough proportion to capacity, since it represents foregone capacity and generation. Source: Ontario Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure: Ontario’s Long Term Energy Plan, proposed November 23, 2010, at p. 19 (graphs of 2010 & 2030 projected generation). Summary at Note to User: the “Long Term Energy Plan” was proposed for public comment. From this plan and comments received, Ontario Power Authority (OPA) will prepared an “Integrated Power System Plan” (IPSP), hold consultations on this IPSP, and submit it for review to the Ontario Energy Board, over the timeframe (page 64 of the first link above). The Long Term Energy Plan and 2011 IPSP supercede the 2007 IPSP proposed by OPA. A terawatt-hour is a unit of power equal to a billion kilowatt-hours. 32 Ontarios “Green Energy Act” (GEA)
