Writing – write a piece about your film preferences – giving opinions and reasons Peer assessment – read what your partner has written. How could it be improved? Ich gehe ganz oft ins Kino, vielleicht einmal pro Monat. Das Kino ist ziemlich teuer und wenn ich auch Popcorn kaufe, ist es sogar teurer. Ich sehe am besten Komödien, weil sie lustig sind aber ich sehe auch gern Horrorfilme, weil sie gruselig sind. Ich sehe überhaupt nicht gern Actionfilme, weil sie so kompliziert sind. Sie sind auch immer so lang und langweilig. Ich sehe ganz gern Kriegsfilme, obwohl sie immer traurig sind. Sie sind aber normalerweise sehr interessant und sehenswert. She finds the cinema expensive. She doesn’t like war films. She goes to the cinema every week. She doesn’t like action films. She thinks horror films are creepy. She most likes watching horror films. She thinks action films are long. She says war films are sad but worth seeing.

24 Subordinating conjunctions
‘weil’ means ‘because’ and sends the verb to the end. Read the text again. Can you find 2 other words which you can use to connect sentences and which also send the verb to the end? What do you think the 2 words mean? Obwohl = although Wenn = when/if Underline the sentences with the subordinating conjunctions.

37 Was sind deine Lieblingsfilme und warum?
(what are your favourite films and why?) Meine Lieblingsfilme sind Abenteuerfilme, weil sie oft sehr spannend und unterhaltsam sind. Ich liebe’Der Hobbit’, obwohl er ziemlich kindisch ist. Es handelt sich um einen Hobbit, einen Zauberer und 13 Zwerge. Die Geschichte ist ziemlich kompliziert und sehr lang. Das Hauptthema ist Gut gegen Böse aber es ist auch ein bisschen lustig. Die Charaktere sind eindrucksvoll und Martin Freeman und Ian McKellan spielen die Hauptrollen. Ich liebe Orlando Bloom, weil er ein guter Schauspieler ist. Ich wϋrde den Film empfehlen, weil es super toll und interessant ist. Ich habe es zweimal gesehen!
