3 A Modal verb is used with another verb
A Modal verb is used with another verb. A modal verb helps the other verb to express its meaning

4 Kinder, was wollt ihr machen? (children, what do you want to do?)
Wir wollen in den Park gehen (We want to go to the park) Was willst du machen? (What do you want to do?) Nein, ich habe keine Lust. (No. I don’t fancy that) Ich will einen Film sehen. (I want to see a film)

5 Modal verb ‘wollen’ (to want to)

6 Was können wir heute Abend machen? (what can we do tonight?)
Ich habe kein Geld! Kannst du mir Geld leihen? (I don’t have any money. Can you lend me money?) Was können wir heute Abend machen? (what can we do tonight?) Wir können in die Disco gehen! (we can go to the disco) Ja. Ich kann dir Geld leihen! (Yes. I can lend you money)
